Youth Speed Training

Our Magnitude Speed Training Program focuses on developing foot speed, landing mechanics, foot placement, running/sprinting mechanics, stopping/starting, multi-directional movement and speed work. Each week the athletes will test various different distances as well as 10 yd, 40 yd and 5-10-5yd testing protocols. This program is designed for the athlete who needs to work directly on their sprinting mechanics, sprinting efficiency/economy, explosiveness and first step mechanics.

Sample Workout:

  • Mobility/flexibility (hips, ankles, thoracic spine) movement preparation in all planes
  • Deceleration work
  • Acceleration work
  • Body positioning
  • Resisted sprinting (bands, parachutes, sleds)
  • Competitive speed drills
  • Reaction drills
